Announcements:

We Remember With Our Prayers: Cayden, Margarete, Jacqui, Lynne, Marcia, Jackie, Margaret, Haley, Mary, Steve, Jim, Charlie, Mike, Pat, Gary, Ed, Eric, Mary, Dorothy, Steve, Shari, our military, and shut-ins.

Memorials: A gift has been given to the Building Fund in memory of Mary Ann Schifer and Ed Ward, by Jim & Betty Anderson.
A gift has been given to the Good Samaritan Fund in loving memory of Clifford Jay Seiter who went to his heavenly home January 15, 2008, by Carol & Family.

A Video Study is held on Mondays with two classes one at 10:00a.m. and one at 6:00p.m. The video study entitled “We Must Plant The Church” The Story of Lutherans in America is offered two times each Monday thru February 12.  The study will meet in the Gathering Space. Each video is between 20 and 25 minutes long and then we will have about a half  hour for discussion.  Plan now to join us.  Even if you missed the first study you are invited to join us for the next studies. Monday, January 15, the topic will be the second wave of Lutheran growth in the United States that was experienced with the Great Immigration (1840-1920).  These immigrants came from Germany, Scandinavia and other places and settled in Ohio and points westward.

Blue Fusion Monday, January 15th Martin Luther King Day –  Grades 3 – 12 are invited to Blue Fusion for an hour of bowling and fellowship!  Bring $5 to help cover the costs!

Book Discussion: On Wednesday, January 17, we will be discussing The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. Dinner will be at 6:00p.m. with discussion to follow at 7:00p.m. at Panera Bread. For more information contact Jean Smith at 740-751-4971. Hope to see you there.

Third Sunday Service Sunday – January 21:   9 am – until gone  Sausage Gravy and Biscuits will be served in the Gathering Space taking donations for the Luther League Mission Trip!  We have 5 young people pledged to serve at Benton Harbor, Michigan.  We ask for your support and appreciate all of your support and donations!

Since our “Comfort and Joy” luncheon was such a success in December, we are going to try this monthly!  A church family that eats together, prays together, celebrates together!  Since January 28, we have our annual congregational meeting after the 10:30 worship, we are starting at 10:15 serving Beef and Noodles, mashed potatoes and dessert in the Gathering Space.  We will be taking donations to help cover expenses!  Thank you!  We will make enough for the first 100!

Waldo Fresh Food Distribution will be held on the first Thursday of February and March.  Distribution will take place from The Barn at All Occasions just south of Waldo.  This month we are collecting toilet paper and dish, body, and hand soap to give to the families. A basket for your gifts is located at the first floor Elevator Lobby. Food distribution will begin at 11:00 and finish up at 2:00, workers need to report around 9:30/10:00. 

The Altar Flower Chart is posted in the Gathering Space. This is a wonderful way to remember loved ones.

Volunteers Are Needed for Love In The Name Of Christ Clearing House. Along with limited ministry workers, we are running very low on furniture in our warehouse for the Hauling Hope ministry. We are in need of gently used living room, bedroom, and kitchen furniture. Furniture can be donated by calling 740-382-3340 and our furniture team can schedule a time to come pick it up. Love INC Information Sessions will be held Wednesday, 1/18 and 2/7 at 9:30a.m., followed by Volunteer Orientation at 10:30a.m. Both will be held at the Love INC office at 196 S Main St. Parking and entrance is available in the back of the building. (Please register by calling 740-751-6554.)

Our Service Sunday is scheduled for January 21 at the 9:15 Sunday School Hour. We will be making backpacks for the ELCA Global Mission project. We are in need of people who sew and have sewing machines that you could bring in that day to help teach the children.  (You would be in charge of your own sewing machine).  If you would like to help please indicate so on your yellow slip, email tanyce.j.addison@gmail.com or call the church office.  All materials will be provided.  

The Annual Congregational Meeting, will be held on Sunday, January 28 following the 10:30 service.

Weather Related Cancellations: All activities at the church will be cancelled if a Level 2 is issued in Marion County. Watch the Emanuel Website, Face book page, or listen to WMRN for cancellations.
