Congregational Meeting Updates At the special congregational meeting on Sunday, November 16th our congregation unanimously voted to call Brother Ian Boden as our Associate Pastor. Ian will begin working in the office on December 1st. His Ordination will take place at his home church in St. Clair, Michigan on January 10th and he will have an Installation service at Emanuel on January 14th. We welcome Brother Ian to Emanuel!
2026 Giving Envelopes are available in the Gathering Space! We will not be mailing giving envelopes this year. Please stop by the Gathering Space to pick up your box. If you receive home communion, we will bring your envelopes during a visit.
Sign up to Help with Worship! An Acolyte sign-up sheet has been added to the Gathering Space. Please take a look to see if there are dates you are available to help. There are also sheets for communion assisting. Thank you!
Did you Know? Emanuel’s Monthly Community Meal also offers a Clothing Locker where people are able to browse through and take home gently used clothing items. The Clothing Locker is currently in need of adult size winter coats, especially women’s. Donations can be dropped off in the box by the Giving Tree in the Gathering Space.
Chair Yoga Continues! Tracy Poole has offered to continue leading Chair Yoga on Fridays through the end of the year! The group will meet in the Gathering Space at 11am on December 5, 12, and 19 (not the 26th). Wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one. Free will donations will be accepted for the Creative Arts program. All are welcome! Women and Men, Children and Adults! Come for one class or all of them. See you there.
All is Bright Christmas open house will be here before you know it, on Dec. 13th 5-8:00. We are asking the congregation to supply cookies and other goodies for our guests. We also need people to “man” the cookie table. Let Dee Rinehart know if you can contribute in any way. Also, we are looking for smiling faces to represent the church at different stations. Look for a sign-up sheet in the Gathering Space.
Introducing the Creative Art’s Loop Troupe Attention everyone who is interested in setting aside time to knit, crochet or embroider projects you want to start but never make time to complete. You are invited to meet the 1st Thursday of every month in the church lounge from 6-7:30 pm to work on your knitting, crocheting or embroidery project. Bring your project for a time of fellowship, solving project problems, and supporting each other. This is sponsored by The Loop Troupe: Jean Smith, Dee Rinehart, Ann Thomas and Sheri Haver. We look forward to your joining us for some fun. We will meet Dec. 4 in the Parlors. In January 2026 we will meet on the second Thursday, Jan. 8 then we will resume meeting on the first Thursday of the month.
The next St. Paul’s Waldo Drive-thru Non-Perishable and Fresh Food Distribution will be held at All Occasions on Friday, December 5th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The church is collecting aluminum foil and toilet paper. Items can be brought to the church and a volunteer will take them to the distribution.
Children’s Choir Mini Session! Join us to sing in December. A group of youth misses the children’s choir and is planning to prepare a song to sing together! They would like any kids/teens who would like to sing with them to join them for practices and the anthem!

High school seniors and current college students are encouraged to apply for the Robert and Margaret Mather Scholarship Fund, Agnes Baldauf Scholarship Fund, and The Hollensen/Dennis Fund if you plan to attend or are already attending an accredited ELCA college or you are pursuing a career in Christian ministry or social services. This scholarship is open to any young and confirmed Emanuel Lutheran Church member. The Rita Herbst Scholarship Fund is now available and it is open to any Emanuel member furthering their education in any field or at any educational institution. Applications may be picked up at the church office.
