Feed the Need News Wednesday, December 24th – Ham and Scalloped Potatoes, veggies; Tuesday, December 23rd – Any help you can give to fill the baskets for the families on Amy’s route would be appreciated. Amy will supply the boxes. We will plan on 12 families; Amy will let us know the exact amount beforehand. It would also help if you were able to bring in 2 food items to help fill the baskets. We would like a variety of items.
Some suggestions: Canned meat, Ramen noodles, Spaghetti & Sauce, Mac & Cheese cups, Soup, Vegetable oil, Cookies, Crackers, Candy
There will be a list posted on the pantry door inside door 1 if you bring in any other items that are not on the list – please write it on the posted list. Items can be placed in the big box inside pantry door 1. We will also include some church items along with a $10 gift card for the staples for the families. Thank you for all your hard work and for being a part of this project and program. You are all Awesome!

2026 Giving Envelopes are available in the Gathering Space! We will not be mailing giving envelopes this year. Please stop by the Gathering Space to pick up your box. If you receive home communion, we will bring your envelopes during a visit.
Faith Stories Update If you submitted a Faith Story, please stop in the Gathering Space on Dec. 7 or Dec. 14th to review your story and sign the consent form. Jean Smith and Ann Thomas will be available to assist you. Thank you.
Faith Journeys Today, 12pm-2pm We are working with the HERE WE STAND curriculum from Augsburg Fortress. As in previous years, we are encouraging parents and family, congregational leaders as well as all members to join us on this year’s journey. We will spend time looking at the Bible with the Here We Stand workbook and the Crossways Bible overview book. There will be a light lunch served. If you are interested in an overview of the Bible, please come. You are more than welcome to purchase the Student Book from Augsburg to join us, or just come and join the conversation.
Sign up to Help with Worship! An Acolyte sign-up sheet has been added to the Gathering Space. Please take a look to see if there are dates you are available to help. There are also sheets for communion assisting. Thank you!
The Hour of Prayer Group will meet Monday, December 15th at 5pm at the church. The Topic of discussion is “Living for Self.” All are welcome!
Did you Know? Emanuel’s Monthly Community Meal also offers a Clothing Locker where people are able to browse through and take home gently used clothing items. The Clothing Locker is currently in need of adult size winter coats, especially women’s. Donations can be dropped off in the box by the Giving Tree in the Gathering Space.
The Final Chair Yoga for this year will be Friday, December 19th. Wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one. Free will donations will be accepted for the Creative Arts program. All are welcome! Women and Men, Children and Adults! Come for one class or all of them. See you there.
Epiphany Community Meal & Worship Sunday, January 4, 2026 Meal at 4:30 PM • Worship at 6:00 PM Join us at Emanuel Lutheran Church as we gather to celebrate the light of Christ revealed in this Epiphany season. We’ll begin with a free community meal at 4:30 PM—open to all—followed by a meaningful Epiphany worship service at 6:00 PM. Come for nourishment, fellowship, and hope as we start the new year together.
The Creative Art’s Loop Troupe will meet on the second Thursday, Jan. 8, due to the New Year’s holiday and then we will resume meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 6pm. Everyone is welcome!
Children’s Choir Mini Session! Join us to sing in December. A group of youth misses the children’s choir and is planning to prepare a song to sing together! They would like any kids/teens who would like to sing with them to join them for practices and the anthem!

High school seniors and current college students are encouraged to apply for the Robert and Margaret Mather Scholarship Fund, Agnes Baldauf Scholarship Fund, and The Hollensen/Dennis Fund if you plan to attend or are already attending an accredited ELCA college or you are pursuing a career in Christian ministry or social services. This scholarship is open to any young and confirmed Emanuel Lutheran Church member. The Rita Herbst Scholarship Fund is now available and it is open to any Emanuel member furthering their education in any field or at any educational institution. Applications may be picked up at the church office.
