Gifts Have Been Given to the Roof Repair Fund by Brian and Christy Penrod in memory of Darlene Schaadt and Carlton Williams.

Calling all servants of God!  As Paul states in 1 Corinthians 12:4-5: Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord. October begins Emanuel’s month long GWOH project. This year the Social Ministry Board has assembled 11 different service opportunities for the congregation. As in years’ past each project can be done by families, individuals and/or groups.  Remember everyone can be a servant of God, it could be writing a letter to our active military members, sending a card to our shut-ins, assembling a Blessing Bag for veterans, feeding the hungry or supplying necessities for the homeless and less fortunate in our community.  Any of these projects are a great way to teach children about loving thy neighbor and serving Christ, or an opportunity to ask friends to help with a project showing them the love of God in action; or perhaps it can be a chance for you to re-engage with your community after months in isolation. Watch for additional information and choose your service project.

St. Paul’s Waldo Community Drive-thru Fresh Food Distribution will be held at All Occasions on Friday, October 2nd from 11 am to 2 pm. The church is collecting tissues, paper towels and toilet paper. Items can be brought anytime to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo and placed between the two back doors.

Help Needed with Lutheran World Relief Quilts – This is a year of change in how the quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief.  The company who shipped the quilts to Lutheran World Relief is no longer available to help with this project.  The quilts will be taken to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pemberville, Ohio. They will be transferred to a semi-truck.   We need help to load the boxes of quilts onto the U-Haul on Saturday, October 10 at 9 a.m. Please contact Ann Thomas at 740-380-2761 if you are able to help.    We appreciate your assistance.  Wearing a mask is required to help with this project.  It should only take about 30 minutes.  Thank you for helping with this project.

Updates from the Church Office As we continue to grieve the loss of Darlene, we are looking ahead to make sure the office remains running in a manner she would approve of! Ashley has expanded her role in the office to Administrative Assistant, and will be working with Ed to take over Darlene’s responsibilities. Please be patient as they learn the ropes! Also, the office is now open Monday – Thursday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. However, we are asking people to please call ahead before visiting so we can ensure social distancing.

Communion on the Porch continues! Pastor Mark is available for prayer and communion on the porch. Plans are in place for this to eventually move from the porch to the Lounge, so that it can continue through any weather. You can call Pastor Mark on his cell phone at (740) 360-2306 to schedule communion for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Where are the Mailboxes? You may notice the mailbox on our porch has been removed. The mail slot on the front door of the office has been enlarged so that you can securely drop off envelopes after hours or on days the office is not open.

Also, the mailboxes from the Library have been relocated to the Lounge. This was in part because Abby’s office for Child Care has been moved to the Library.

Mitten Tree Update! We will not be displaying the Mitten Tree in the Gathering Space this year, however, we will still collect donations of hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, etc. for those in need in the community. More information will be coming soon on how and when to drop off donations for this mission.

Please Note:  If any who attend our in person worship services show symptoms of Covid 19 and test positive for the virus, they should contact the church immediately.

Our Next In Person worship service will be October 4 at 10:30 a.m.

10:30 Broadcast Continues: The Radio Broadcast and live streaming of the 10:30a.m. service will continue each week.

Our 9:15 Service is now available to watch through livestreaming on our website and Facebook, on weeks when that service takes place.
