Breaking Bread Together
Acts 2:42. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teachings and to fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and to prayer.
Please join us for an evening meal to visit with one another, maybe get to know another member, meet some of our Daycare families, play or craft with our children, get out of house, don’t cook and have a hot meal. All are welcome.
This NEW MONTHLY EVENT begins……Wednesday September 20 in the Parlor. Serving begins at 5 PM and ends at 7 PM. The Board of Education is planning the first meal. On the menu is tail gate food…hot dogs with all the trimmings, mac and cheese, cole slaw and other tailgate treats. We’re kicking off fall and football….wear your favorite team colors or jerseys!!! We’ve got buckeyes ( thank you Sue Rakow) and we’re making necklaces!!!
Future BREAKING BREAD dates: October 25, November 15, December 20
We are asking for volunteers or boards to host and cook for BREAKING BREAD TOGETHER each month. Please call Cindy Rinker if interested.
Join us in the church parlor for a free Thanksgiving meal from 12pm – 3pm. Dine in only.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Pastor Mike will be starting a new Bible Study on Sunday afternoons. We will take time to read the entire Bible together, from Genesis to Revelation, from cover to cover. It is interesting that the vast majority of Christians have not actually read the entire Bible once. This is the book that we confess to be the rule, source, guide and norm of all that we think, say, and do. Maybe we should actually read it. We will start with Genesis and take one to three weeks working through each book, depending on the discussion and conversation. Pastor Mike has notes and handouts to guide us through this journey. This has always been an enjoyable journey for Pastor Mike in all his congregations. We will meet most Sundays. You don’t have to be at every single week to get benefit from the study. We will let everyone know where we are in the Bible from week to week. So join us when you are able.
You are invited for an evening of food and fellowship in the parlor. Please bring a dish for the potluck. Beverages (bottled water, lemonade, iced tea, and coffee) and table service will be provided. At this time, all attendees are required to be fully vaccinated. For questions contact LGBT.Emanuel@gmail.com or 740-262-2655.
Emanuel Lutheran Church will be open to the public as part of the Downtown Marion Christmas Church tours.
